Sharing Projects
A share link lets someone open a read-only copy of your project in their browser. It is the lightest way to show your work — no one can change the circuit through a share link. If you want others to edit or comment, use Collaboration instead.
Creating a share link
From the editor, open the share dialog (the Share control in the toolbar / File menu) and create a link. You choose how long it stays valid:
- Never expires
- 7 days
- 30 days
The full link is shown once with a Copy button. It points at a /share/...
URL carrying a unique token.
What the recipient sees
Opening a share link requires the recipient to be signed in to a de:volt account. They then see the circuit in a read-only workspace — they can pan, zoom, and run the simulation, but there is no toolbar, no editing, and no save. The link always reflects the latest saved version of the project.
Managing and revoking links
The share dialog lists your active links, each showing:
- A short identifier (the start of the token).
- When it was created and when it expires.
- How many times it has been opened.
Press Revoke to deactivate a link immediately. Revoked or expired links stop working at once, so you can hand out a link and pull it back later without affecting the project itself.
Share links vs collaboration
| Share link | Collaboration | |
|---|---|---|
| Access | Read-only | Editor or viewer roles |
| Who | Anyone with the link (signed in) | People you invite by email or link |
| Editing | No | Editors can edit and co-edit live |
| Comments | No | Yes |
| Best for | Showing a finished circuit | Working on a circuit together |
Both are Pro features. Use a share link for a quick read-only view; use collaboration when you want named people working on the project with you.
