Account & Settings
Simulator settings live at /settings.
You need to be signed in before you can change account, billing, telemetry, or
synced editor preferences.
Profile
The Profile page controls the identity shown across the simulator dashboard, comments, and collaboration presence.
- Display name is shown instead of your email where there is room.
- Avatar URL accepts a public
https://image URL. The app validates the URL before saving it. - Email address changes are confirmed by email. Enter the new address, then use Confirm email change and follow the confirmation message.
Billing and subscriptions
Open Settings -> Billing to see your current plan, subscription status, and active benefits. From there you can:
- Upgrade to Pro.
- Pick monthly or annual billing when annual pricing is enabled.
- Open the Stripe Customer Portal to change payment details or cancel.
If you cancel, Pro benefits stay active until the end of the paid period. See Hobby vs Pro for the full feature comparison.
Editor preferences
Open Settings -> Editor to control simulator behaviour and appearance.
The following settings are saved to your account and follow you between devices:
- Theme - dark or light.
- Default sim rate - the starting simulation speed multiplier.
- Show engine diagnostics - adds solver timing and step-size details to the toolbar while the simulation is running.
- Keyboard shortcuts - per-action shortcut overrides.
The following settings are device-local because they depend on the hardware you are using:
- Touch controls -
Auto,On, orOff. Auto follows touchscreen detection; On and Off force the mobile/touch layout for that device. - Free-form wire routing - choose the modifier key that temporarily disables auto-routing while you draw a wire, so the wire follows the cursor.
Keyboard shortcuts
The shortcut list in Settings -> Editor is the source of truth. You can search actions, click a shortcut, press a new key combination, and save. If two actions use the same shortcut, the page shows a conflict and will not save until you resolve it.
| Default shortcut | Action |
|---|---|
Cmd/Ctrl + S | Save project |
Cmd/Ctrl + Z | Undo |
Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + Z | Redo |
Cmd/Ctrl + A | Select all |
Cmd/Ctrl + D | Duplicate selection |
Delete or Backspace | Delete selection |
Escape | Cancel / clear |
A | Toggle current arrows |
W | Wire-only drag |
Space | Add a bend while drawing a wire |
You can Export shortcut overrides as JSON or Import a JSON override set. Reset one action or reset all shortcuts to return to the defaults.
Run, pause, reset, simulation speed, and the component palette are controlled from the editor toolbar. The remappable shortcut list covers editor actions, not every toolbar button.
Telemetry
Open Settings -> Telemetry to opt in or out of product telemetry. The toggle is stored in your profile preferences and also updates the current browser session immediately.
Account deletion
Open Settings -> Account for the danger zone. To delete an account, type the account email address exactly and confirm. This signs you out and permanently deletes the account and cloud projects.
The same de:volt account is used by the simulator and Learn. If you use
de:volt Learn, open learn.devoltapp.com/account and Download my data before
deleting the account.
Account deletion is irreversible. Export any project JSON, BOMs, reports, or Learn data you need before confirming.
